NPRM 4521

Belle Aire Aviation helped to form a grass-roots movement to fight this regulation that would have put 100's out of business and prevented the public from taking rides in vintage aircraft.

We used our extensive knowledge regarding operation of vintage aircraft, the internet, and FAA regulations to develop a resistance movement aimed at preventing this draconian measure from being implemented.

An internet discussion group was established. A web site was developed to inform people about the proposed regulation and help legislators understand the situation. Industry leaders, aviation organizations and regulatory experts were recruited to help. Belle Aire Aviation testified in a public hearing held by the FAA in Washington D.C. regarding this issue.
As a result of the extraordinary efforts of a lot of people, this NPRM has been stalled and its implementation has been delayed by years. It appears that if it is implemented at all, it will be considerably watered down from its original form and vintage aircraft will still be able to fly.

Lancair 235/320

We were contracted to do the Phase I flight test (25 hours) on this aircraft.

First flight, aircraft rigging, system debugging, envelope expansion and POH updates were performed. Aircraft is now in service with the owners.

Due to our wide range of experience and excellent safety record, we are able to obtain first flight insurance coverage for most aircraft.

Aerostar Festival R40S

Light Sport Aircraft certification and marketing.

Built by Aerostar S.A. of Romania, the Festival was designed to fit the new LSA category of airplanes in the US. We traveled to the factory in Romania, consulted on the "Americanizing" of the airplane, imported the airplane into the US, worked with the FAA locally and at the headquarters level on certification. Certification was completed in 9 months from start to finish. The Festival was the 13rh LSA aircraft certified in the US.

Based on their satisfaction with our work, Aerostar S.A. asked us to head up the marketing of the aircraft in the US. We formed a subsidiary company, LightSportFlying.com, to market the airplane, establish a dealer network and certify additional Festivals when they arrive in the country.
Our good relationship with the FAA helps us to overcome many obstacles with paperwork, airworthiness issues and other problems. We have been designated by the FAA as a Safety Counselor. Jabiru USA and Atec Light Sport Aircraft certification.

Colyaer Freedom Amphibian.

We are providing consulting services, documentation support and FAA liason for certification of this aircraft in the Special Light Sport Aircraft category. LSA-Aero is the US distributor for this aircraft along with the Martin (a landplane version) and the Gannet (a pure seaplane).

We have been working with LSA-Aero and the FAA for about 12 months on this project. Certification was completed on 9 November 2006. Look for the Martin to be certified soon.

S-LSA Aircraft Wiring Diagrams and Cookbook.

A major supplier of S-LSA aircraft wanted to install their EFIS and avionics systems at the aircraft factory in Europe where labor costs are less. At issue was the complicated installation manuals from the various avionics manufacturers with their varied formats and configurations. Our solution? Define several "standard" avionics configurations and build simplified wire tables and step-by-step instructions for connecting those specific devices in the desired configuration. The finished product becomes part of the maintenance manual for the aircraft meeting the ASTM requirement for providing electrical diagrams and troubleshooting information..

EZrg Instrument Panel Modernization

The instrument panel in a one-of-a-kind aircraft, the Drybread EZrg needed to be updated. The challenge? Add a second COM radio, VOR/LOC/GS capability, a dual screen EFIS and autopilot to the very small instrument panel. The GRT Avionics Horizon 1 EFIS along with the TruTrak Digiflight II VSGV autopilot was selected. A new instrument panel was designed, fabricated and installed by our shop. All avionics and instruments were tested and installed. The aircraft was flight tested and returned to service. This aircraft is available to view (by appointment) as a showcase of our work.

We are a reseller of GRT Avionics products. We can build custom wire harnesses and manufacture instrument panels for your aircraft. We sponsor this aircraft in the S.A.R.L. air races.
